And that's exactly why I can help you build yours.
I grew up in Grenada and came to New York with ambition and very few certainties. What I had was a willingness to learn, a talent for observation, and a stubborn belief that the traditional path wasn't the only path.My first career was in architecture — a field that trained me to think in systems, to see what isn't there yet, and to design solutions for problems that don't have obvious answers. Those skills never left me. They just changed form.
After architecture, I moved into environmental consulting. I was then introduced to New York's food and beverage landscape and eventually became a recognized voice in the New York craft spirits industry.
I authored two books on that world: Discovering the New York Craft Spirits Boom and Before the Glass: Things to Consider When Entering the Booze Business. Those books weren't planned.
They were the result of paying attention — noticing a story that wasn't being told, and deciding I was the right person to tell it. That pattern has repeated itself throughout my career. Each pivot brought new expertise.
Each industry taught me how to position unfamiliar ideas for skeptical audiences. And each transition confirmed something I now teach:
"You don't have a starting-over problem. You have a repositioning opportunity."

Today I am the founder of Doltam Creative Solutions, a New York State Certified Minority Woman Business Enterprise based in New York City. Through Doltam, I provide visibility coaching, personal branding, and business strategy to professionals, coaches, consultants, and solopreneurs who are ready to monetize what they already know.
I am also the author of Create Your Own Table: A Guide to Discovering Your Purpose and Pivot: Because Life Doesn't Always Go As Planned — two books that give professionals the frameworks and permission structure to stop waiting and start building.
My podcast, Live Learn Leverage, extends that conversation — bringing in guests and sharing insights on visibility, pivots, and the mechanics of building a career or business that actually fits who you are.

I've been invited to speak at summits, conferences & wellness retreats because the people in those rooms are not looking for theory. They are looking for a framework they can use on Monday morning — and a speaker who has walked the road they're standing at the beginning of.
My keynotes and workshops are built around the Authority Advantage framework: a four-part approach to helping professionals identify their transferable value, articulate it with confidence, and build the visibility that turns expertise into opportunity.
